You’re in the right place
Thanks for stopping by.
You’ve found something a little different - original gear in a world full of clones, copycats, and buzzwords.
Monarch Pedals has been doing its own thing since 2009. It started, like most of this stuff does, with a broken wah pedal and the thought: well… it’s already broken, so I can’t make it worse.
That turned into soldering irons, burnt fingertips, messy experiments, solder burns on the carpet, and eventually designing and building our own professional circuits - testing them, breaking them, fixing them, and gigging them until they made sense.
That first Fuzzboy from 2010 is still sitting around the workshop somewhere. It looks like a disaster. Still sounds great though.
Built by hand
These days, every Monarch pedal is built by hand in our Auckland workshop by a husband-and-wife team. Bess the shop dog is also involved, mostly in a security role watching for the couriers like they owe her money.
The guiding principle has never changed though - quality usable gear that inspires you to play just that little bit longer.
Kingdom Pickups
Fast forward to 2024 and that same mindset ended up in a different place - pickups.
Kingdom Pickups is a the same team offering hand-wound, custom-built pickups made in Auckland. Same workshop, same approach, just focused on the thing that actually generates your guitar’s voice.
Two brands. One bench.
Monarch Pedals and Kingdom Pickups come from the same place. Same hands. Same minds. Same vision. Same process. Same standard.
If it doesn’t make you want to play, it doesn’t leave the workshop.
